Opening hours

Until 31 July 2017 the Library will be open

24 hours from 8am on Mondays to 9pm on Saturdays.

Sunday open hours are 9am - 9pm

 

The Library is staffed:
Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm

The Library self-service hours are:
Monday to Friday 6pm - 6am
Saturday & Sunday 9am - 9pm

Please note there is no admittance to the Library 10 minutes before closing time.

Any days when the Library will be closed will be publicised in advance on the Library Blog and on notices in the Library.

 


Access to the Library


A current ID card or library access card is required to enter the Library at all times.

Students

If you have forgotten your ID card, please go to University Reception to collect a temporary access card. Once you have this access card, please go to the Library Helpdesk and request a temporary day pass which will allow access into the Library. Temporary day passes can only be issued from 8am until 6pm, Monday to Friday.

 

NHS staff & other members

If you have forgotten your NHS ID card or library access card, you will be required to show alternative ID, such as a credit card or driving licence.

 

Access to the Library during self-service hours

Monday to Thursday: 6pm through to 8am the next day
Friday: 6pm through to 9pm on Saturday
Sunday: 9am to 9pm

During these hours, ID cards or library access cards are required to gain entry to Level 1 Hunter Wing, where the Library is located.

 

Access to the University outside normal office hours

The University is accessible without an ID card or current library access card during these hours:

Monday to Friday: 6am to 10pm

Saturday/Sunday: 9am to 6pm

Outside of these hours, you will be required to have your ID card or current library access card to gain entry to the building, via Grosvenor Wing.

The Computer Rooms, adjacent to the Library, are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A current ID card or library access card is required for entry.
